At North Heights Community School, our job is not only to offer your child the best education possible but to assist you and your child with any issues that may affect your child's learning. The goal of the School Guidance and Counseling Program is to enhance our school environment by teaching healthy and productive social skills, how to make responsible choices, and many other essential life skills. Additionally, as the school counselor, I am available to assist parents/guardians with any questions or concerns they may have—the following lists how I will work with students and their families.

Classroom Guidance lessons: Teaching guidance lessons by visiting your child's classroom will allow me to provide the students with knowledge and skills to enhance their everyday life and to develop a relationship with each student at The Heights.

Small Group Counseling: The small group provides the participants with coping strategies and a feeling of not being alone with their particular concerns. Parents or school staff may refer a student for small group counseling.

Individual Counseling: If your child is experiencing a difficult situation, you may request that I visit with them individually. School staff may also refer a student for individual counseling. Counseling sessions will be confidential unless a child's safety is at risk.

Teacher and Parent Consultation: I am available for positive suggestions in dealing with student behavior and any academic or personal concerns about a student.
