Texarkana Arkansas School District campuses will celebrate Read Across America Week, March 2–6, 2026, with a week of themed activities designed to promote reading engagement and strengthen literacy skills across grade levels.
Throughout the week, students will participate in reading-focused experiences connected to daily themes, featured books, and skill-based learning targets. While the activities are fun and interactive, each day is also intentionally connected to core literacy skills that support student growth.
Daily Literacy Focus Areas Include:
Rhythm & Poetry
Rhyme & Pattern Reading
Making Predictions & Noticing Details
Vocabulary Building
Character Traits & Retelling
Campuses may incorporate dress-up themes, classroom reading activities, library features, and cross-curricular literacy connections to bring each focus area to life for students.
Read Across America Week is part of TASD’s ongoing commitment to building strong readers through meaningful, engaging, and skill-aligned literacy experiences.
Families are encouraged to review their campus flyer and communication channels for specific daily themes and participation details.
We look forward to celebrating the joy and importance of reading with our students across the district.
