Day 2: Attendance matters. Let's work together to develop strong attendance habits. Did you know you can monitor your child's attendance (and grades) by logging in to the Home Access Center? https://hac23.esp.k12.ar.us/HomeAccess/Account/LogOn?ReturnUrl=%2fhomeaccess.
We are here to prepare your child for future success.

Day 3: Will your child eat a meal from the cafeteria? If so, there are two options for school meals: (1) All students are eligible for a free lunch and breakfast, or (2) bring a lunch from home. If a student who does not get a tray needs milk, that cost has changed to $0.50. Additional food items/snacks will be available for purchase for $1.00. The best way to manage your funds is to use the Family Portal: https://texarkana.familyportal.cloud. You will first set up your student's account online and add funds at your convenience. No food deliveries for students will be accepted. If you have any questions, the office can assist you.

Day 7: Time to start getting back into a routine! Encourage your kids to start going to bed a little earlier each night to ease into the early mornings. Get those reading skills geared up by challenging your growing leaders to read for 5-10 minutes each night before bed. Create a simple checklist of daily tasks or chores to help with time management. These are a few simple ways to encourage effort and motivation. #firstday2023 #theheightsway

Day 8: Back to school means it's time to stock up on supplies! We are pleased to announce that TASD will provide a majority of the instructional materials for the 2023-24 school year. Items required by the parents/guardians are a backpack, a plastic pencil/supply box, and a pair of headphones. Don't forget to label the supplies to ensure they stay organized and easily identifiable.

All school bus riders must be registered to ride the buses before Monday, August 14. Registering your student before the August 14 deadline helps the transportation department plan efficient routes to get students to school and home in a timely manner. If your student is not registered before Monday, August 14, he or she will not be on the pick-up or drop-off schedule and will not be assigned a stop location or time. No new transportation requests will be accepted during the first two weeks of school. Bus registration will resume on Monday, September 4, and will take 48 hours to process. So please take a moment to register your child today at www.tasd7.net.

Day 9: There are only 9 more days of summer break. Make sure you check your mail! You will receive a postcard in the mail between August 1-August 4, 2023, letting you know your homeroom teacher's name. We will have Meet the Teacher Monday, August 14, 2023, from 4:30-6:30 pm.
